May 2017 - The 6th Grade Wax Museum

May 2017 -The 5th Grade had a wonderful time at the Windy City Thunderbolts field trip game! ​They​ enjoyed advancing our knowledge of the history of baseball which we have been reading about. ​They​ also got to relax and have a great time at an exciting ball game.

Apr. 2017 - Best Buddies were busy making signs about the upcoming Best Buddies Walk at Brookfield Zoo on Saturday, May 6, 2017.   We also made Autism Awareness Ribbons to decorate our halls in honor of Autism Awareness Day.

March 2017

Mar 17, 2017 - Cassell School celebrated St. Patrick's Day in a grand way!  The 5th annual St. Baldrick's Event was a huge success!  The students, families and friends of Cassell have raised over $18,000 this year!  A total of over $157,000 in 5 years for pediatric cancer research! Thank you to Jen Amelio for organizing the event!  Thank you to all those who "Braved the Shave", the fundraisers, the donors and the volunteers who made the event so successful!   We look forward to next year!

Mar 17 - ​Rooms 106 & 120 won the latest perfect attendance challenge! All students in those classes were rewarded with an ice cream party! Way to go!

Feb 2017 - Students in 6th-8th grade who earned the February PBIS Incentive for Being Respectful, Responsible, Safe and Kind!

Mar 2017 - Th 8th Grade Modeling hydrogen isotopes: Using marshmallows and toothpicks the to create models of the three hydrogen isotopes.

Mar 2017 - During the first semester, only 24 students attended school every day of the semester!  Those students were rewarded for their perfect attendance with an ice cream party and a perfect attendance t-shirt!  Great job Cassell Perfect Attendance Students!  ​

February 2017

Feb 2017 - Cassell Student Council led the way with supporting the fundraiser, Get Behind the Vest, to support the Chicago Police Officers.  The council and our school community was able to raise just over $600!  Thank you to all who participated.  Our 6th grade student council treasurer, Jenna May and her siblings, Jaime & E.J. attended the pancake breakfast to bring the Cassell donation to Alderman O'Shea and the Chicago Police Memorial Foundation.

Feb 2017 - The 5th grade had a great time on their field trip to the Willis Tower Skydeck. They got a chance to face any fear of heights and point out Chicago architecture from the 103rd floor of this awesome skyscraper we have right here in our city!

September 2016

Sept 2016 - 1st grade class first STEM project. They built the tallest structure with blocks and cubes provided and held the weight of an apple on top!


Sept 2016 - All students in Mrs. Rodriguez'  Room 102 received a 100% on their spelling tes!  To celebrate they had a spider party. They made spider hats and wrote a spider book and everyone got a spider in which to scare their parents with!  Yay Room 102!!!
