Assistant Principal's Message
August 3, 2016
I would like to introduce myself as Cassell’s new Assistant Principal, as well as express my excitement in becoming a part of the Cassell Team!
I began my teaching career in 2002 at Marquette Elementary School where I was fortunate to have the support and guidance that I needed from my administration and colleagues to continue pursuing my goals in education, including the achievement of National Board Certification in Early/Middle Childhood Literacy and Language Arts, a master’s degree in administration, and another in reading instruction.
In the classroom, I have a strong passion for developing students as whole persons, and outside of the classroom my enthusiasm is in curriculum and instructional planning. As a teacher I have had the opportunity to work with local universities and ongoing studies on the implementation of the Common Core State Standards (CCSS); as the assistant principal of Kellogg Elementary School for the past 4 years I have had the privilege of leading teachers, students, and parents in their understanding of using CCSS in the most effective way.
I am grateful for the opportunity to continue my learning with the Cassell Team, and so excited to be a part of such a great community. I am confident that the new leadership and Cassell enthusiasm will guide our school to continued success and exceed all expectations!
